Age 90, of Warsaw, passed away on June 3, 2026 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw.
He was born January 15, 1936 in Warsaw, NY to the late Vernon N., Sr. and Eleanor Ballard Baker. Junior proudly served in the United State Army Reserves. Junior was the proud owner and operator of Baker & Baker Trucking Co. for 38 years, retiring in 2005.
He was active in the Warsaw Fire Department for 18 years. He was a member of the Warsaw Volunteer Exempt Firemen’s Association and the Warsaw Lodge #560 L.O.O.M. Junior enjoyed playing golf, traveling, riding his bike around Warsaw Village Park and especially getting together with his buddies down at the restaurant for coffee.
Junior was predeceased by his wife, Joan Jagiello Baker, who passed away in 2006, stepson, Bob Hummel, and sister, Beverly Zielinski.
He is survived by his companion, Sylvia Post of Warsaw; sons, William D. (Louise) Baker of Clearwater, FL, Rodger (Gigi) Baker of Clearwater, FL; step sons, John Hummel of Batavia, Michael (Patty) Hummel of PA, Dan (Donna) Hummel of Attica; sister, Debra (Andrew) Kral of Foxboro, MA; grandsons, Adam Baker and Eric Baker; and many nieces and nephews.
He will be deeply missed by all but always present in our heart.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 11 am at Warsaw Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held immediately following the graveside service at the Warsaw Fire Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Warsaw Fire Department, PO Box 229, Warsaw, NY 14569.
