Thomas Panowicz

Father Thomas Panowicz, age 72, of Castile, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at East Side Nursing Home, Warsaw.

Thomas was born on October 3, 19k53, the son of the late John and Martha (Marczynski) Panowicz and brother to the late Margaret (Raymond) Kanczak.

He proudly served his country in the United States ARMY and later received his Master’s in History. Thomas served his community as a priest in the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad and as a caseworker for the Buffalo Veterans Affairs. He was an avid collector of coins and loved studying history.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Olga (Ivanivna) Panowicz; nieces and nephews, Maureen (Spencer DelPrince) Kanczak, Karyn (Shawn) Michalski, and Mark Kanczak (Ada Qiu); close
friend, Nicholas Glatt.

Friends and family are invited to Thomas’ Funeral Mass on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 8:30 am at Robinson and Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 North Main Street, Warsaw, NY. He will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery, 1975 Baird Rd, Penfield, NY following the services at 12:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Thomas’ memory to a Veteran Charity of your choice.
