Age 71, of Warsaw, went home to Jesus on August 19, 2019 under the care of the wonderful staff at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia with his family at his side.
Ron was born in Warsaw on December 2, 1947 the son of the late Leon and Rita Schneider.
Ron, also known as Ruby, entered the Air Force after graduating from Warsaw Central School, honorably serving his country during the Vietnam War. He later worked for the Wyoming County Highway Department and Lapp Insulator Company. Ron attended Alfred University studying Culinary Arts and earning the Alumni Dinner award.
Ron was known to all for his humorous, talkative personality and making friends easily; sharing his great moments and happy stories. He was an avid reader and enjoyed golfing, the Buffalo Bills, baseball, garage sales, guitar playing and making his famous “Mom’s” pizza. He also had a special interest in the Native American culture and donated to their schools.
Ron is survived by his son, Jonah and Jonah’s mother, Loretta, his brother Lee and Kimberly Schneider; sisters, Deb and Gary Sweet, Leah and Rick Mencell and Bonnie and Fred Downs; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Friends may call Sunday, August 25 from 2 – 6 PM at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Ron’s funeral service with military honors will be held Monday, August 26 at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Warsaw at a later date. A veteran’s memorial service will be held Sunday at 6 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Gift Donor Records, Heart Research Center, University of Rochester, 300 East River Road, PO Box 270032, Rochester, NY 14627 in memory of Ronald Schneider.
