Age 92, of Castile, NY passed away on April 14, 2020 at home.

Mr. Daley was born November 9, 1927 in Castile, son of the late Lawrence and Lola Mooney Daley.

He lived his entire life in Castile and was a graduate of Castile High School and Bryant & Stratton Business College. He was a proud veteran of the US Army, serving in the 8th Army Headquarters Company J.A.G. section during World War II. He worked at the Castile Gun Shop and Archway Cookies prior to his retirement in 1990.
Mr. Daley was a life member and past Post Commander of Wallace-Jeffers American Legion Post 753 in Castile and was also a life member of the Perry VFW Post 5009. He was a member of the Castile Exempt Fireman’s Association, the National Warplane Museum in Geneseo and was a life member of the National Rifle Association.

Surviving are his wife of seventy years, Frances Vaughn Daley, whom he married on August 5, 1950 in Horseheads, NY; three daughters, Diana (Donald) Warham of Millport, NY, Deborah (Mike) Lynch of Florida, Tina Duell of St. Petersburg, FL; five grandchildren, Michael Anderson, Angela Seidl, Danielle Duell, Ryan Duell, Jessica Benkelmann; thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild due in July.

Richard was predeceased by his brothers, David and Paul Daley.

Friends may call Thursday, July 23 from 11 AM-12 PM at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. A Fireman’s memorial service and an American Legion service will be held immediately following visitation at 12 PM to be followed by Richard’s memorial service. Burial with military honors will follow in Grace Cemetery, Castile. Memorials in Richard’s memory may be made to the National Warplane Museum, PO Box 185, Geneseo, NY 14454 or Castile Rescue Squad, PO Box 338, Castile, NY 14427 or Wallace-Jeffers American Legion Post, Castile, NY 14427.
