Richard C. "Dick" Anderson

Age 88, of Pike, passed away on August 2, 2026, with his loving family and dog, Shadow by his side.

He was born on August 11, 1937, in Bliss, son of the late Forrest and Viola Peet Anderson. Dick grew up on the family farm and from an early age learned the value of hard work. He was a graduate of Letchworth Central School and in the years to follow became a man of many hats. Dick might be best known for owning and operating the Red & White store in Pike but he also built a restaurant in Pike and operated that for a few years. He worked for Motorola for 27 years as a Foreman. Dick volunteered his time as well running Elmwood Cemetery in Pike for over twenty years, serving as Justice of the Peace in Pike, and helping the Town of Pike maintain the water system, Little League fields in the summer and the sidewalks in the winter.

In his early 20’s Dick would race his car on the dirt track in Perry, Angelica and Holland. Dick was an avid race fan and had attended the Daytona 500 for more than 30 years. He also enjoyed the outdoors and mowing lawns. Dick had a knack for being able to build or fix anything as well.

He was always there for anyone who needed anything and will always be remembered for being a loving father and a wonderful friend.

Dick was a proud Mason and held many offices, not only locally, but statewide as well. Past Master and longtime Secretary of the Triluminar Lodge #543. Royal Arch Masons serving as District Deputy Grand High Priest and High Priest. Cryptic Masons, serving as Grand Most Illustrious Master District Deputy Grand Master of District 8, and as Illustrious Master of Nundagawa Council.

Dick is predeceased by his parents; his wife, Kathryn Lang, who passed in 2016; a daughter, Sandra Gilman; a sister, Ethlyn Anderson; his brothers, Leslie (Janice) Anderson Sr., William (Suzanne) Anderson; sister-in-laws, Martha Schoff, Georgia Kauffman.

He is survived by his daughter, Debra (Brian) Rapp of Fabius, NY; his son, Charles (Laureen) Anderson of Livonia; his siblings, Karen Anderson, Janet (Ron) Smith, Ronald (Kay) Anderson, all of Pike; his grandchildren, Mia, Richard, Rochelle, Tristan (Erin), Shayna, Megan (Dylan), Lexi (Mike), Cameron, Meghan (Scott), Jamie (Arielle); many great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Shadow.

Friends may call on Sunday, August 9, 2026 from 4-6PM and Monday, August 10, 2026 from 10AM-12PM at Robinson and Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Dick’s funeral service will be held on August 10, 2026, immediately following visitation at 12PM. Burial will be made in Elmwood Cemetery, Pike following Dick’s funeral service.
