Peter Mayer, Jr.

Age 96, of Warsaw, formerly of Pike, passed away on September 13, 2026 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility.

He is survived by his children, David (Cheryl) Mayer, Susan (Robert) Harcleroad, John (Marcia) Mayer, Peter (Joan) Mayer, Sandra (Robert) King, Patrick (Melissa) Mayer, Lucinda Mayer; his sister-in-law, Beverly Scritchfield; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Peter is predeceased by his parents, Peter and Anna Reicz Mayer; wife, Patricia Anne Safford Mayer; son, Stephen Mayer; daughter-in-law, Edna Mayer; siblings, John, Mike, Teresa; brother-in-law, Bill Safford; grandchildren, Nicki Sue Mayer, Christopher Mayer, Teresa Mayer, Hannah Mayer; great grandson, Owen Brown.

While raising eight children in the town of Pike, he found time to be, a Town of Pike Justice, a member of the Triluminar Lodge F&AM, and a member and past chief of the Pike Fire Department. He was also involved with the Cub Scouts in Pike with his wife, Patricia. Peter enjoyed fixing old clocks, playing in horseshoes tournaments, and bowling.

Per Peter’s wishes, there will be no services at this time. A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
