Patricia J. Allen

Patricia “Pat” Allen, born on October 3, 1944, at Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw, NY, passed away November 17, 2025 surrounded by her family and friends. The daughter of Charles Allen and Phyllis Browne Allen, Pat was the third of eight children.

Her strong work ethic and independent spirit was fostered in a loving home.

A lifelong resident of Warsaw, Pat poured her heart into her community. She was a true entrepreneur at a time when it was far from common for women to forge their own path. After many years working at the Warsaw Penny Saver Pat operated two beloved local businesses, Gussy’s Place in Silver Springs and Stellar Spirits & Wines—warm gathering spots for friends, neighbors, and longtime customers. Her determination and drive also led her to become the first woman in New York State to receive an FHA Loan without a man’s signature, a milestone she carried with pride and humility.

Pat joined forces with friends to organize the first girls softball team in the community and was involved in the planting of Ginko trees on Main Street. She was always eager to lend her voice, time, and energy to support local business and community initiatives. Her dedication helped shape the village she loved so dearly.

She is survived by her two daughters, Pamala Bennett (Sorenson) and Paige Bennett and cherished grandchildren—Katie Lyn Coleman (Staselavage), Rebecca Sorenson, Rose Sorenson (Spitale), and Zachary Bennett great-grandchildren, Raven Staselavage, Sonny Spitale, Samuelé Spitale, and Lourdes Marie Spitale, each of whom brought her immense joy.

Pat now joins her beloved son, Jeffrey C. Bennett and granddaughter Jacqueline Bennett in the afterlife, a reunion she has long awaited.

Her legacy of resilience, generosity, and unwavering love for family and community will live on in all who knew her.

A celebration of life is planned for a later date.
