Age 98, of Pike, passed away on February 12, 2026, at the Eastside Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Facility in Warsaw.
She was born July 28, 1927, in Pike, daughter of the late Roy and Daisy Berry Flint. Lunamae graduated from Pike Seminary and then went on to earn an associates degree as a graduate of the Rochester Business Institute. She taught swimming in Pike for ten years, was a very active, longtime member of the Pike Community Church and was the Town of Pike Historian for 20 years as well. Lunamae was an early member of the Historical Society of Early American Decoration. She stenciled the walls of the Griffith House where she demonstrated early American cooking over the open hearth at the Wyoming County Fair. In addition she co-authored “Pike…200 Years Along the Wiscoy”, a book on the history of Pike for their bicentennial.
Lunamae is predeceased by her husband, Paul Flint; her sisters, Arlouene Quackenbush and Gladys Hotchkiss; a son-in-law, Dr. Robert Simpson II.
She is survived by her children, Penelope Simpson of West Bloomfield, MI, Randolph (Kathleen) Flint of Fletcher, NC, Cathy (Peter) Swales of Springville, NY; her grandchildren, Robert Simpson III, Elizabeth Chin, Nathan Flint, Anthony Flint, Rebecca Ferri, Abigail Petri; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Services for Lunamae will be held on a date to be determined at the Pike Community Church. She will be buried in East Koy Cemetery at that time as well.
