Age 74, of Warsaw, NY, formerly of Troy, passed away on January 22, 2024 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
She was born in Troy, NY on October 7, 1949 to the late George Daniel Davis, Jr. and Helen (O’Neil) Davis. Linda graduated from Troy High School and Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in 1971. She married Robert F. Larson, Sr. in 1972 and remained a native Trojan until 1999 when she moved to Warsaw to be near her daughter and her family.
She worked in various positions from Samaritan Hospital to volunteering. She volunteered at Social Club, Hands & Hearts Thrift Store, Warm line and The Historical Society, as well as facilitating class at ARA & Spectrum Human Services. She was also on the board as secretary for Peers Together of Wyoming County. Linda belonged to Bible Studies, Creative Writing, Piecemaker’s Quilt Group and Starburst Preschool. Linda was a member of the Valley Chapel Free Methodist Church.
Linda served others in all she did, from her grandson’s musical performances to her daughter, Laura’s Mary Kay events. In 2023, she received the distinguished Alan Goodenow Memorial award for Outstanding Service to the Community for Warsaw’s Chamber of commerce. She has left a legacy of faith, family, and community. She loved to laugh, enjoyed cooking and baking, ceramics, and keeping her family history alive.
Linda is survived by her children, Laura A. (Eric) DeBadts of Warsaw, Rob F. (Amy Salisbury) Larson, Jr. of Troy; brothers, George D. (Dennise) Davis III of Vienna, VA, Thomas P. (Tab Koshgarian) Davis of Edgewood, MD; grandchildren, Jacob DeBadts, Daniel DeBadts, R.J. (Rebecca Messore) Bailey, Connor DeBadts, Kiara Chenot; nephews, Tom (Sierra) Davis of Essex, MD, Cory Davis of Yorktown, VA; 6 grandnieces and nephews.
Friends may call Saturday, January 27th from 10:30 am to 12 pm at the Valley Chapel Free Methodist Church, 3415 State Route 19S, Warsaw where Linda’s funeral service will be held immediately following at 12 pm. Burial will take place at a later date at Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy, NY. Memorials may be made to Peers Together of Wyoming County, 27 W. Buffalo St., Warsaw, NY 14569 by check or through venmo @Laura-DeBadts, please write in the memo “Linda Larson”.
