Age 83, of Warsaw, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, at the Eastside Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw.
He was born on October 11, 1942, in Warsaw, son of the late Clarence and Bonnie Woodley Bush. Kenny grew up on a farm, so at an early age he learned the value of hard work. He would eventually take a liking to woodcutting and with the values he learned as a youngster Kenny turned that trade into a successful sawmill business. Through the years he became a mentor to many not only as a sawyer but also for the genuine kindness he showed towards everyone he met. Kenny was a simple man. He enjoyed attending steam shows and woodsmen’s carnivals. He liked listening to gospel bluegrass music and travelling the countryside. Kenny loved maple syrup season and had a passion for making it. Nothing could compare to the time Kenny spent with his family though.
Kenny is predeceased by his parents; his loving wife Elsie Bush; a daughter, Cheri Laforet; sons, Aaron Bush and Stephen Bush; son-in-law, Justin England; and his dog Oreo.
He is survived by daughters, Amber (Bryan) Powell of North Carolina, Susan England of Florida; son, Wayne (Josie) Bush of Rochester; his grandchildren, Josh Bush, Matthew Bush, Ronnie Grabowski, Candice Grabowski, Amy Grabowski, Samantha Badillo, Rebecca Reardon, and Cristian Albee; several great grandchildren; his aunt, Lorraine Bell; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; cousins-in-law; and his cat, Ragsie.
A special thank you to the countless family/friends/neighbors who gave dad rides when they'd see him out walking, who donated items he needed and/or brought food/baked goods to help keep him nourished, and/or helped in ways we may never even know (specifically but certainly not only, George Colton (and Shirley), John/Wilda Davis, The Whittons (and Ed), Relyea's (Burdicks), Coverts, and SOOOOO many more we can't name all. Also, a very special thank you to Jessica and Aiden Spencer, and Brian Chambers, for all the loving care they showed dad (and mom), as if they were their own loved ones. To the staff/mgmt at Crestview for supporting dad/mom during their decline, and especially to Steve at Crestview for allowing dad to help around there, which kept dad physically mobile as long as possible, and gave him an outlet for his energy when dad could no longer work at his beloved mill. Lastly, but certainly not leastly, to the Fronczak family for supporting the "Bush kids" during both dad and mom's decline. Fronczak's have been here for us, even as they are going through their own recent loss of Stanley, and we can never repay them for all the ways they've shown us kindness/compassion through these extremely difficult times.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 11am at Dale Cemetery.
