Kathleen Browne (Kathy or KB), died on Monday, September 14, 2026, after a long illness, at Eastside Nursing Home in Warsaw, NY. Kathy was born on April 20, 1950 to Raymond and Madeline Browne of Warsaw, NY. She graduated from Warsaw Central High School and had fond memories of her years in school. She took great joy in continuing to follow their athletic teams and music and drama departments throughout her life. She went on to study at both SUNY Cortland and GCC.
Kathy worked a variety of jobs including working for her father at the Warsaw Penny Saver, tending bar at the Vets Club and eventually working for the Wyoming County Department of Social Services as a Welfare Examiner, a job she eventually retired from. After her retirement she worked part time at Sinclair Pharmacy in Warsaw, a job she loved and which afforded her the opportunity to stay in touch with friends and neighbors.
Kathy spent most of her life living in the village of Warsaw while spending childhood summers at Silver Lake. After retirement, she moved to her home on Rushford Lake. She loved sharing that beautiful place with friends and family. Kathy was also a lifelong member of St. Michael’s Church of Warsaw, NY. She enjoyed many hobbies over the years including reading, swimming, playing on the Women’s Town Softball Team, doing lawn work, watching sports and especially travel. She and her lifelong friend, Judy, traveled to Florida, Georgia, the Outer Banks, the Isle of Palms, NYC, Maine and many places in between. She loved a good road trip! She was also a passionate and loyal lifelong Buffalo Bills fan!
The thing that brought Kathy the most joy in life was her family. She was forever grateful that she was able to co-parent her daughter April with Judy. She adored her daughter and her grandchildren and spent as much time as possible with them. She loved her nephews and nieces as if they were her own children and spoiled them every chance she got. The children in her life nicknamed her Gago and she proudly went by that moniker. Almost as important as her family were her fur babies. She would often joke that she liked animals more than most people! Making people laugh was a special gift of hers!
Kathy was predeceased by her parents and her beloved brother Bill as well as her lifelong friend Judy Murphy. She is survived by her daughter April Boynton (Darren), grandchildren Tyler Boynton and Lily Boynton (Trevor Sachanowski); sister by heart Kathy Bower; nephews and nieces by choice: Matthew Bower, Cassiey Kemp, Timmy Murphy, Michael Murphy and Jeffrey Murphy as well as several cousins and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, September 26th from 12-2 pm at Robinson And Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw where Kathy’s memorial service will be held immediately following at 2pm.
