James E. "Jim" Wilson

James E. Wilson, age 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at the Hurlbut Care Facility in Rochester, NY. He was born on August 29, 1945 in Washington, D.C. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Ellsworth and Marion (Dennis) Wilson, baby brother, and beloved nephew, Nathan Wilson

He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Higgins) Wilson, his brothers, Dennis (Lynn) and Michael (Kay) Wilson, both of Hornell, and his brother, Paul (Gail) of Hammondsport. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

Jim graduated from Canisteo Central School in 1963, where he was a good scholar and athlete who played on the football team. He also participated in several school plays. Jim attended Alfred University, where he majored in ceramic engineering. After college, he worked in Rochester at Pfaudler Corp. in research and development, and later participated in forming Intertec Associates, which manufactured laboratory equipment. Later in his career, Jim worked for Advanced Transit Mfg. in Canisteo/Hornell as an electrical engineer. In his spare time, he enjoyed photography, watching professional baseball and football games, and visiting with friends and family.

A Celebration of Life service is planned for mid-July.
