Age 96, of Salamanca, NY, passed away on April 23, 2025 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw.
She was born on March 28, 1929 in Sutton, WV to the late Amma E. Hamric and Newton V. Wilson. Along with her parents she is predeceased by her siblings; a brother, Arlen Wilson and two sisters, Lucille (Robert) Winship and Dollie (Scott) Smith.
She is survived by her son James E. (Donna) Graham of Warsaw, and daughter, Debra F. D’Avanzato of Orchard Park; her grandchildren, Sarah Graham, Kristine Graham, Catherine Bennett, Melissa Stadler and her great grandchildren, Isla, Arlo and Sylvie.
Hattie enjoyed her flowers. She had a small garden and rhubarb patch for many years.
Family was important to her. She was a stay-at-home mom while her children were growing up. It was not uncommon for the family to go to the children’s grandparents for Sunday dinner. This was usually followed by a visit to her brother-in-law’s farm. For years she would write back and forth to her aunts and sister in West Virginia and Ohio.
Hattie was employed at the Salamanca District Hospital until it closed. She continued her employment at Allegany State Park until her retirement.
Funeral arrangements are being provided by Robinson and Hackemer Funeral Home, Warsaw. Hattie’s funeral will be private. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 3 East Main St., Allegany, NY 14706.
