Georgette M. Gates

Georgette Mary “Frenchie” Gates (née Cousineau), born July 19th, 1927, in Massena NY, passed on October 4th, 2025 at the Leroy Village Green. She was the wife of the late John Edward Gates, of Castile NY, and joins three children who passed before her: Peggy Gates (Sullivan), Debbie Gates (McGinness), and Scott Gates. She is survived by Sharon Gates (Crawford) of Chili NY, Linda Gates (Vallance) of Batavia NY, Christopher (Marjorie) Gates of Warsaw NY, and Patrick (Susan) Gates of Piffard, NY. She doted on her 12 grandchildren, as well as great-grandchildren too numerous to list.

Among her hobbies, she loved to raise indoor plants and knitted lots of throws. She loved playing golf and bowling in her younger days. She also loved small dogs and cat and was a wonderful cook whose Cole Slaw recipe is lost to the ages!
