Warsaw, Age 90 died April 30, 2020 in the Landing at Laurel Lake, Massachusetts with her daughter at her side.
Dorothy was born in Valparaiso, Indiana on March 28, 1930. The daughter of the late Walter and Frances Buckrath Jordan. She graduated from Blasdell High School in 1948. She went to work for a photography studio and later started her own small photography studio. She married her husband Jack Hackemer in 1953 then moved to Warsaw where she raised her family and worked as a seamstress. She also helped out as a substitute teacher in home economics and anywhere else she was needed. The family moved to Canisteo, NY in 1979 and she started working as a seamstress in a bridal shop, which she really enjoyed.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Jack, a sister Frances Jordan, brothers Joe and Ed Jordan. She is survived by her 5 children; daughter, Beth (George) Del Vecchio of Lenox, MA; 4 sons, Jay (Mary Anne) of Warsaw; Glenn (Betsy) of Denver, CO; Jeff Hackemer of Warsaw; Dean (Kara) of Fairfax, VA; brother Charlie (Beth) of Hamburg, NY. 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, Dorothy’s service will be private and burial will be in St. Michaels Cemetery, Warsaw.
