David L. Galton

David L. Galton, of Pike, passed away peacefully at Strong Memorial Hospital on January 8, 2021. He was 80 years old. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Woodard Galton in 2016 and his daughter Darla Buttles in 2004.

Surviving are his daughters, Debra (Dave Wynia) Carr and Denae (Rich) Tones, son-in-law Steve Buttles, a brother Lynn (Margaret) Galton, a sister Anne O’Connell, a sister-in-law Rhoda (Ron) Goerss, a brother-in-law Walt Piechota, 8 grandchildren and 16 (soon to be 19) great grandchildren.

David was a 1958 graduate of Letchworth Central School where he excelled in sports and continued to follow the Letchworth sports teams throughout his life. He truly enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports. He was a former Pony League coach, Pike Volunteer Fireman, Fire Commissioner and avid bowler.

David owned and operated his own business Arrow Fence. Retiring from the Ironworkers Local 6. He loved reading, especially westerns. He will be remembered for his friendly nature.

A private burial will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Pike Fire Department or Pike Rescue Squad, PO Box 26, Pike, NY 14130 or Pike Library, 65 Main St., Pike, NY 14130.
