With great sadness, we share that our beloved son and brother, Cory M. Nichols, age 41, of Rochester, formerly of Warsaw, passed away peacefully, with his loving family by his side, on May 6, 2026, after a brief illness at Rochester General Hospital.
He was born on June 29, 1984, at Rochester General, son of Roxanne D’Angelo Nichols of Warsaw and Calvin (Amy) Nichols of Batavia. Cory was a graduate of Warsaw Central School, class of 2002. He held various jobs over the years, doing things that he enjoyed, including working as a cook, a collection specialist, a landscaper, and in construction, which he liked the most. Cory loved being around people. Whether it was a family event, or one of the “infamous” porch parties at Roxy’s house, or the countless number of concerts and festivals he attended over the years, Cory truly lived by his senior quote, “Life is one big party so live it up”. He also enjoyed snowboarding, playing guitar and playing frisbee golf. Cory will always be remembered for being a gentle soul who was kind to everyone he met.
Cory is predeceased by his grandparents, Ignazio and Velma D’Angelo, and Peter and Grace Nichols; his uncle, Robert D’Angelo; as well as numerous great aunts, great uncles, and cousins.
Along with his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Nathan (Christi) Nichols of Warsaw, his twin, Cody J. (Taylor Blachura) Nichols of Rochester, Joshua (Karen) Secondo of Wyoming, and Jake Nichols of Virginia; his sister, Cali Nichols of Batavia; his nieces, Alyvia Fetzer, and Gemma Secondo; several beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins; his longtime girlfriend, Heather Kleinsmith; and many close friends.
A celebration of Cory’s life will be held on June 13, 2026 at 1pm at the American Legion Hall located at the Warsaw Village Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Huther Doyle, 360 East Ave., Rochester, NY 14604 or at www.hutherdoyle.com/get-involved.
