Carrie Ann Girod

Age 51, of Warsaw, passed away on September 19, 2026.

Born on June 5, 1975, Carrie was the daughter of Daniel O’Leary and the late Deborah Mavis Adams. Carrie had a warm, outgoing personality and a wonderful creative spirit. She had a gift of making things beautiful and loved decorating her home for the holidays and creating special traditions for her children. She took great pride in creating a warm and inviting space for herself and those she loved.

Carrie was also an exceptional baker and cook. She had a natural talent in the kitchen and enjoyed preparing delicious homemade meals and baked goods for her family and friends.

She also enjoyed pampering herself and had a particular love for perfumes and candles. She almost never left the house without her favorite lipstick and hoop earrings. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and spending time outside during the Summers and watching the Bills in the Winter months.

Above all though, there were two things that gave Carrie more joy than anything else. One was her favorite place on earth, Long Beach in Wainfleet, Ontario, Canada. Here is where Carrie made some of the most precious memories she had with her family and it always held a special place in her heart. The other great joy in Carrie’s life was the deep love she had for her children. The time that she spent with them meant the world to her. Her only granddaughter, Amara, was her pride and joy. Carrie loved picking out toys for her and it brightened her days knowing how much Amara loved them.

Carrie is predeceased by her mother, Deborah Mavis Adams; a sister, Kelly O’Leary; her grandmother, Mary Lou O’Leary.

She is survived by her loving companion of many years, Howard Billings; her father, Daniel (Hedi) O’Leary; her daughters, Alyssa (Marvin) Duncan, McKenna Girod, Gianna Girod; her sisters, Shaunna Raczkowski, Julia (Stephen) Sompolski, Tammy (Ian) Wilson, Amy (Tom) Shults; her brother; Scott Smalter; her granddaughter, Amara Duncan; her aunt and godmother, Patricia (Larry) Hone; her uncle, David Mavis; her mother-in-law, Joan Billings; her great-great aunt-in-law, Joan Almeter; and her five nephews.

Friends may call on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 12-4pm at Robinson and Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. A private celebration of Carrie’s life will take place following the visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Carrie’s name may be made to American Horticultural Therapy Association (AHTA).
