Beverly A. Herman

Age 87, of Warsaw, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, at Eastside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw, NY.

Beverly was born November 8, 1937, in Batavia to James B. and Evelyn W. (Mooney) Lennon.

She graduated from Warsaw Central and married David Deen Herman in 1957. They were divorced in 2000.

She was a longtime member of the Roman Catholic Church, most recently at St. Michael’s Church in Warsaw, NY.

She was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles, and watching sports, especially the Buffalo Bills. She loved to cook family meals and created some memorable recipes over the years. For many years, she was the family seamstress. Eventually, it branched out to include wedding dresses for brides and bridesmaids, altered clothing, and hemming pants. Beverly and her Bernina sewing machine seemed to have no limits.

She is most remembered as a long-time substitute teacher at Warsaw Central School, and she assisted for over 20 years with scoring at Track and Field events. She was also the Head Cheerleading Coach for many years, coaching hundreds of girls, some of whom went on to be members of college squads and youth coaches. Her teams were noted for their precision, enthusiasm, and competitiveness. Hard work and dedication earned her and the cheerleaders numerous victories. Beverly was selected as LCAA Coach of the year twice and Section V Coach of the Year 5 times. Her teams garnered 3 LCAA Championships, 1 Section V Title, and 14 Cheer Competition Team Titles.

Beverly was predeceased by her parents, James B. Lennon and Evelyn W. Mooney (Lennon) (Ackerman) Bzduch; sister, Judy (Harold) Alexander, and brother, James (Susan) Lennon.

She is survived by her son, Mark (Amy) D. Herman; her daughters, Traci (Maxwell) Thiele and Julie (Jefferson) Bransford. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Noah (Chloe) Herman and Emma Kate Herman; Maxwell (Elizabeth) Thiele, Eric, and Caroline (Devon) Garrity; Elizabeth and Madeline Bransford; and one great-grandchild on the way.
