Barbara Lapham

Age 96, of Portageville, passed away on September 12, 2026, at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw.

She was born on June 29, 1930, in Castile, NY, daughter of the late Gordon and Adella (Denton) Eustace. Barbara was a graduate of the former Castile High School. She then attended Eastman Dental School to become a dental hygienist and worked with Dr. Raymond Deeney, DDS, in Perry. Her family owned and operated Apple Hill Farms in Castile for many years. She loved working in the “Apple House” with her brothers Ralph and Roger and the rest of her family. Barb was an avid gardener and was known for her green thumb. She also enjoyed reading, and doing needle point crafts. Barb’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her great-grandsons with whom she could always talk into playing cards or a boardgame.

Barbara is predeceased by her parents; her loving husband, Jack Lapham; her son Glen Lapham; her daughter, Margaret (Peggy) Skill; and her brother, Ralph Eustace.

She is survived by her brother, Roger (Dorothy) Eustace of Castile; a daughter, Kathryn Lapham of Castile; her son-in-law, Joe Skill of Rock Glen; her grandchildren, Gina (Skill) Skidmore of Portageville, Mike and McKenzie Chappel of Wisconsin; her great- grandchildren, Anthony and Anderson Skidmore; a niece, Vickie Bly of Castile; her nephews, Kevin (Beth) Eustace of Leroy; Tim (Tracy) Eustace of Perry, Jim (Jill) Eustace of Michigan; her sister-in-law, Marcia (Ron) Guertin of Castile; many great nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 11am-1pm at Robinson and Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Barb’s memorial service will take place immediately following visitation at 1pm. Burial in Grace Cemetery, Castile, following the memorial service.
