Warsaw - Anna Regina Batzold, of Warsaw, passed away peacefully at Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility on May 23, 2026, at the remarkable age of 99. Born on April 19, 1927, Anna lived a life filled with love, faith, family, friendship, and joy.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, John and Tina Alfieri; her beloved husband of 64 years, Eldon B. Batzold, the love of her life since high school; her brothers, Joe and Tom Alfieri; and her sister, Dorothy Cofield.
She is survived by her loving children: Linda (the late Thomas) Sherman of Warsaw, Eldon (Patti) Batzold of Coquille, Oregon, and Cheryl (Brian) Petre of Warsaw. Anna was a proud grandmother to Tom (Michelle) Sherman of LeRoy, Kristin (Ken) Fickling of Pittsford, Stefani (Josh) Prentice, stationed in South Korea, and Danielle Petre of Dallas, Texas.
She also leaves behind her cherished great-grandchildren: Cole (Savannah) Sherman of LeRoy, Taylor (Garrett) Chapell of Hubert, North Carolina, William Fickling, and Weston and Dawson Prentice; along with her treasured great-great-grandchildren, Tommy and Vinney Sherman and Sophia Chapell, and nieces and nephews.
Anna was a devoted member of Saint Michael's Church, where her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life. Together with her two daughters, she proudly owned and operated Just For You, a retail store that brought not only success, but also countless friendships, memories, and joy to the community.
Anna and Eldon especially treasured vacations with friends, shopping adventures, and the many happy moments they shared together over the years. Anna had a warmth and spirit that touched everyone she met. She had a gift for lighting up every room she entered, and her kindness, elegance, and vibrant personality will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her legacy of love, devotion, and joy will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
There will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend Anna's Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday (May 28, 2026) at 10:00 a.m. from St. Michael's Church, 171 North Main Street in Warsaw. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital.
