Albert Louis Strathearn, 85, of Wyoming, NY, passed away on October 17, 2020 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital, Warsaw.

Albert was born March 28, 1935 in Middlebury, NY, the son of the late John and Mary King Strathearn. He lived most of his life in the same house where he was born. Albert was a lifelong farmer who owned and operated his family farm with his three brothers, sons, daughters, and nephews. After selling the family farm Albert worked part time for Boxler Dairy Farms in Varysburg, NY.

Albert was a lifetime member of the Wyoming Hook & Ladder. He was a past fire chief and president. He served as a councilman in the Town of Middlebury for many years. He also proudly served in the Army National Guard.

Albert was very proud of the family that he raised with Betty, one of his greatest accomplishments. He had many great friends and loved to socialize, he could always make someone laugh. He also had a great love for the many pets the family acquired over the years.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Tyler Strathearn; his children, Michael (Judy), Dennis (Barb) both of Wyoming, Laurie (Jack) Keough of Warsaw, Cathy (Guye) Smith of Lima, Sarah (Paul) Meyer of Warsaw; 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jean Grutzner, Georgia (Bob) Martin, Mary Ann Tyler, Sue Strathearn; many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Harold, Leigh, Verna, Bernice, Lucille and Edward and brothers-in-law, Robert Tyler and Ronald Grutzner.

Friends may call Wednesday, October 21 from 1-3 & 5-8 PM at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw with a Firemen’s service at 7PM. A private family funeral will be held October 22, 2020 at the funeral home. A celebration of life will follow at 12:30PM at the Wyoming Hook & Ladder, 26 Maple St., Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wyoming Hook & Ladder, PO Box 36, Wyoming, NY 14591 or the Warsaw Rescue Squad PO Box 22, Warsaw, NY 14569. Online condolences at www.robinsonandhackemer.com. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral home is limited to 33% capacity and masks are required. Thank you for your cooperation.
