Winifred E. Cook

Age 87, a resident of Premier Genesee Nursing Home in Batavia, formerly of South Warsaw, passed away on December 8, 2019 at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.

She was born April 9, 1932 in Batavia, daughter of the late Raymond and Mabel Calkins Worthington. Winifred worked for many years as an assembly worker at the former Mallory Timers Company in Warsaw. She was a member of the Valley Chapel Free Methodist Church in Warsaw. Winifred enjoyed cooking and baking and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Winifred was predeceased by her husband, George Cook who died in 1977.

Surviving are her children, Cynthia (Frederick) Hamilton of Batavia, Bruce (Darlene) Humel of Gainesville, Donna Beitz of Attica, Sharon (David) Bellinger of Buffalo, Danny Humel of Silver Springs; step daughter, Margaret Cook of Kentucky; eleven grandchildren; many great grandchildren; her brother, Jim (Charlene) Worthington of Byron; her sister, Zoella Spink of Batavia; several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Donald, Spencer, Roy and Raymond Worthington and Viola Wight.

Winifred’s memorial service will be held Friday, December 13 at 11 AM at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Private burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Silver Springs. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Valley Chapel Free Methodist Church, 3415 Route 19 South, Warsaw, NY 14569.
