William M. Schoff

Age 73, of Warsaw, NY and Lakeland, FL, passed away on September 29, 2022 at his home in Warsaw.


He was born July 7, 1949 in Warsaw, NY son of the late Harold and Alta Bowdish Schoff. Bill was a graduate of Warsaw Central School Class of 1967 and received his bachelor’s degree in economics from the State University of New York at Brockport in 1971. He was employed for thirty years with the United States Postal Service retiring as Regional Senior Personnel Manager in Buffalo.


Bill was a longtime member of the Warsaw Lodge #549 Free & Accepted Masons and has served as the treasurer of the lodge for many years. He was active in scouting for many years serving as a troop leader. He was an Eagle Scout and attained the position of Vigil in the Order of the Arrow. He was also a member of the United Church of Warsaw. Bill was the editor of the newsletter for the Lake James residential community in Florida. In earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as playing golf. He was an avid card and domino player. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and extended family.


Surviving are his wife of thirty-eight years, Rosemarie Henderson Schoff, whom he married on September 15, 1984; his son, Greg (fiancé, Courtney) Schoff of Nashville, TN; his brother, Ed (Suzie Muskopf) Schoff of Warsaw; his sister, Susan Fredereksen of Warsaw; nieces and nephews.


Friends may call Wednesday, October 5 from 2 – 4 PM at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 North Main Street, Warsaw. A Masonic service will be held immediately following visitation at 4 PM, followed by Bill’s memorial service with Rev. Elizabeth Meachem officiating. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery, Wethersfield Springs. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Animal Friends at Wyoming County Animal Shelter, 4380 Route 19, Silver Springs, NY 14550.
