Thomas F. Hollister

Age 79, of Warsaw, passed away on August 1, 2019 at the East Side Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw.

He was born on August 29, 1939 in Warsaw, son of the late Lloyd, Sr. and Genevieve Pethrick Hollister. Tom was a proud veteran of the US Army where he served as a paratrooper. He was employed as a corrections officer for twenty-eight years, retiring from Attica Correctional Facility. Along with his wife, Diane, Tom was the owner of T & D Plumbing & Heating in Warsaw, a business they began in 1965. Tom was a kind and generous person who along with Diane took in and raised many children over the years. He also was a valued public servant who served twenty-two years as a member of the Village of Warsaw Board of Trustees.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Diane Frazier Hollister; his children, Carl Russell of Warsaw, Tom (Christine) Hollister of Warsaw, Lori (Christopher) Bruno of Rochester, Jon (Danielle) Hollister of Holley, Tricia (Michael) Woodward of Warsaw; grandchildren, Ryan, Amiee, Blake, Hilary, Matthew, Megan, Addison, Jonathan, Max, Ethan, Dyson, Jett; his siblings, Frank (Linda) Hollister of Warsaw, Loletta (Phil) Hollister of Holley. He was grandfather of the late Alyssa Bruno and brother of the late Jean Brace-Moden, Lloyd “Bub” Hollister and Patricia Turkot.

Friends may call Wednesday, August 7 from 12 – 3 & 4 – 8 at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Tom’s graveside service with military honors will be held Thursday, August 8 at 1 PM at Warsaw Cemetery, S. Main St., Warsaw to be followed by a reception at the Legion Hall, Warsaw Village Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Warsaw Fire Dept., PO Box 229, Warsaw, NY 14569 or Warsaw Rescue Squad, PO Box 22, Warsaw, NY 14569 or Animal Friends of Wyoming County, 4380 Route 19, Silver Springs, NY 14550.
