Sylvia B. Johnson

Sylvia Brumfield Johnson, 99, of Debary, FL, passed away on October 30, 2013. Born in Holmesville, MS on the 4th of July, 1914, Sylvia was the daughter of Henry S. and Mary Sauls Brumfield of McComb, MS. She had 3 sisters and 3 brothers, all now deceased.

She married Stanley C Johnson in McComb, and they lived happily together in Fabyan, CT, Stuart, FL, and Castile, NY before entering a nursing home in Houghton, NY together. After Stanley passed, she moved to the Debary Manor Home in Debary, FL.

Sylvia had many interests; she was active in gardening and golf, croquet, and bridge clubs. She played the piano for her high school graduation and was a member of their Mississippi State Champion Basketball Team. Her inquiring mind and sense of humor made friends wherever she went. She will be missed.

Sylvia is survived by 2 sons, William P. (Kay) Johnson of Debary, FL, Stanley C. (Maureen) Johnson of Yellville, AR. and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at the Brumfield family plot in Magnolia Cemetery, Magnolia MS. at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 16, 2013. Catchings Funeral Home of McComb will conduct the service.
