Shirley A. Smith

Age 79, of Warsaw, formerly of Portageville, passed away on November 4, 2019 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw.

She was born April 14, 1940 in Warsaw, daughter of the late Fay and Genevieve Gerace Vincent. Shirley was an avid collector and trader of antiques and collectibles. She and her husband, Gary operated the Weekend Shop and were active in area shows and flea markets. Shirley was a wonderful baker and was known for her blue ribbon winning apple pies. She was active in 4-H and continued to be an active supporter of the organization in later years. Shirley was a member of St. Michael’s Church in Warsaw.

Surviving are her husband of nearly sixty years, Gary Smith whom she married on December 2, 1959; her children, Don (Sondra) Smith of Las Vegas, NV, Sheryl (Tim) Fast of Frederick, MD, Dan Smith of Short Tract, Kevin (Molly) Smith of Portageville, Beth (Tim) Mann of Warsaw; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother, Richard (Marilyn) Vincent of Houston, TX; sister, Ann (Dale) Reynolds of Wyoming, NY; many nieces and nephews. Shirley was the mother of the late Randy Smith and grandmother of the late Matthew Fast.

Friends may call Thursday, November 7 from 4 – 7 PM at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Shirley’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 8 at 10 AM at St. Michael’s Church, Warsaw. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Silver Springs. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st St., Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131 or Wyoming County 4-H, 36 Center St., Suite B, Warsaw, NY 14569.
