Ruth A. Prefontaine

Age 95, of Alden, formerly of Castile, passed away on March 24, 2022 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Amherst.

She was born February 14, 1927 in Castile, NY to the late Roy and Gladys Guest Chasey. Ruth worked at Robeson Cutlery in Castile for 13 years working various positions. She later went on to work at the East Side Nursing & Rehabilitation Center as the head of housekeeping.

Ruth was a former member of the Castile Baptist Church and the Castile Silver & Gold Club. She enjoyed swimming at the Warsaw YMCA, gardening flowers and vegetables, and visiting Letchworth State Park to watch the deer. She also took great joy in spending time with her family and friends.

Ruth is predeceased by her son, Brian Hall and her siblings, Dean Chasey, Gwendolyn Ludwig, and Marietta Johnson.

She is survived by her children, Rolle Hall of Alexander, Dale Hall of Alden, Deborah (James) Lennon of Darien Center, Anne Fox of Alexander, Steven (Dianne) Hall of Alexander; daughter-in-law, Sherlyn Hall; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Wednesday, March 30th from 5 – 8 PM at the Robinson And Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw where Ruth’s funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 31st at 10 AM. Burial will be held in Grace Cemetery, Castile. Memorials may be made to a church of the donor’s choice or to A New Start Kitty Shelter, 6342 Denton Corners Rd., Castile, NY 14427.
