Rose Mary Reding

Age 96, of Gainesville, passed away on Oct. 25, 2019 at the East Side Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw.

She was born May 30, 1923 in Buffalo, daughter of the late Andrew and Lucy Meyers Romesser. Rose was a graduate of Attica High School and together with her late husband, Francis operated their family farm on Hardys Road for many years. She was a member of the former St. Joseph’s Church in Bliss, St. Mary’s Church in Silver Springs, where she was also a member of the Altar & Rosary Society and St. Michael’s Church in Warsaw. Rose was a member of the Strykersville Senior Citizens group and enjoyed traveling with the Warsaw Orangeville Gainesville Senior Citizens on many trips. She was an avid reader and loved spending time with her large family.

Rose was predeceased by her husband Francis Reding; and her sons, Thomas Reding and Steven Reding.

Surviving are her daughters, Nancy (Richard) Fontaine of Strykersville, Kathleen (Rocky) Roberts of Gainesville, Karen (Larry) Almeter of Varysburg; her sons, Donald (Deborah) Reding of Attica, Barry (Wendy) Reding of Gainesville, Daniel (Adrene) Reding of Gainesville, Terence (Monica) Reding of Warsaw, Randy (Cassandra) Reding of Silver Springs; daughter-in-law, Christine Patino of Atlanta, Ga.; 29 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and “sister.” Shirley Sage of Hilton. She was the sister of the late Elizabeth Standish, Mary Rita Romasser, Francis Romesser, Andrew Romesser and Bernard Romesser.

Friends may call Sunday, Oct. 27 from 3–8 p.m. at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Rose’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Oct. 28 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church, Warsaw. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
