Age 83, of Castile, passed away peacefully with the love and care of his wife, daughter and two sons surrounding him at the Sturgill Hospice House in Brooksville, Fla.

He was born November 22, 1936 in Warsaw, NY son of the late Wallace Edwin and Ruth Lucille Johnson Kemp. Bob was raised in Silver Springs and was a graduate of Letchworth Central School in 1955 and Genesee Community College in 1973. He enlisted in the US Army and served from 1955 – 1958. In earlier years, Bob was employed at the Morton Salt Company in Silver Springs and was a children’s supervisor at the School at Industry. Bob joined the State Park Police in 1965 and worked for thirty years at Letchworth State Park prior to his retirement in 1995.

Bob was a former scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 54 in Castile and was a past president of the Castile Community Club. He joined the Oakland Lodge #379 of the Free & Accepted Masons in 1962 and served as Master of the lodge in 2007-08.

Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved camping, hunting, fishing and his winter trips to Florida where he enjoyed new friendships with many other campers.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-nine years, Patricia Ann Nichols Kemp whom he married on September 3, 1960; his daughter, Tammy (Alan) Beardsley of Silver Springs; sons, Terry Kemp of Hagerstown, Md., Tommy (Colleen) Kemp of Batavia; grandchildren, Tonya (Matthew) Rodenback of Paoli, Pa., Andrew (Mona) Beardsley of Portageville, Adam (Chelsea) Beardsley of Nashville Tenn., Austin Beardsley of Silver Springs, Alyssa Beardsley of Silver Springs; great grandchildren, Graham Robert and Olivia Ann Rodenback of Paoli, Pa; his brother, James (Vicki) Kemp of West Valley; brothers-in-law, Jon (Delores) Nichols of Warsaw, Joseph Casey of Bliss; sister-in-law, Marlene Casey of Bliss; many dear nieces and nephews. He was brother-in-law of the late James Nichols.

Friends may call Friday, January 3 from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw where Bob’s memorial service will be held Saturday, January 4 at 10 AM. A Veterans service and a Masonic service will be held at 6:30 PM on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 101 John J.
