Loletta Mae Hollister

January 25, 1950 — February 22, 2023

Loletta Mae Hollister

Age 73, a resident of the East Side Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw, formerly of Buffalo, passed away on February 22, 2023 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw.

She was born January 25, 1950 in Warsaw, daughter of the late Lloyd and Genevieve Petherick Hollister. Loletta was employed for many years as a house manager for the New York State DDSO in Buffalo and in Rochester in earlier years.

Known as Lolly to her friends, she was a strong spirit; having a quirky, sarcastic dry sense of humor that quickly befriended those she encountered.

She was the Vice President of the East Side Nursing Home Resident Council and she was also on the Safety Council. Lolly loved animals and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. She enjoyed watching game shows and movies, reading novels, doing crosswords and drinking coffee. She also was a strong advocate for those that could not speak for themselves.

Lolly was predeceased by her husband, Philip Moselle, her son, David Michael Gillman and her beloved dog, Jake.

Surviving are her children, Jonathan (Danielle Worrock) Hollister of Holley, NY, Tricia (Michael) Woodward of Warsaw; grandchildren, Jonathan Hollister, Jr., Max Hollister, Ethan Woodward, Dyson Woodward, Jett Woodward; great granddaughter Rose Hollister; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also survived by her dear friend, Butch Herman. She was the sister of the late Jean Brace Moden, Lloyd Hollister, Patricia Turkot, Tom Hollister and Frank Hollister.

Lolly felt compelled to contribute to others in her passing through anatomical donations and to the education of others in the medical community as she was proudly accepted to be an eye donor and also donated her body to the University of Rochester Medical Center Anatomical Gift Program. A memorial will be planned at a later date this summer to celebrate her life. Memorials may be made to your local animal shelter in Loletta’s memory.
