Age 64, of Gainesville, NY passed away on April 27, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 14, 1957 in Warsaw, NY daughter of the late Francis and Rose Mary Romesser Reding. Kathy was a licensed practical nurse. She worked for several years at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw and then for Doctor Francis Kelly before working for Dr. Calvin Scherer in Castile. Kathy also served for many years as Director of Religious Education at the former St. Joseph’s Church in Bliss.
Kathy’s life revolved around her family. She was a homemaker for many years, staying home to raise her children and in more recent times she loved taking care of her grandchildren, a task that gave her great joy. She lovingly took care of her parents as well in their later years. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking and sewing. Kathy was a member of the former St. Joseph’s Church in Bliss and is a current member of St. Michael’s Church in Warsaw.
Surviving are her husband of forty-five years, Rocky Roberts whom she married on October 4, 1975; her children, Amy (Brian) Youngers of North Java, Eric (Cassandra) Roberts of Bliss, Melissa (Adam) Cebula of Gainesville, Kimberly (Vincent) Hemming of Gainesville; her grandchildren, William, Michelle, Meghan and Ashley Youngers, Alannah and Lennox Roberts, Anna Cebula, Patrick and Emily Hemming, Maddie and Abbey Geising; her siblings, Nancy (the late Richard) Fontaine of Strykersville, Donald (Deborah) Reding of Attica, Daniel (Adrene) Reding of Gainesville, Barry (Wendy) Reding of Gainesville, Terence (Monica) Reding of Warsaw, Randy (Cassandra) Reding of Silver Springs, Karen (Larry) Almeter of Varysburg; sister-in-law, Christine Patino of Atlanta, GA; several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Thomas Reding and the late Steven Reding.
Friends may call Friday, April 30 from 3 – 7 PM at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Kathy’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at St. Michael’s Church in Warsaw. Burial will be in Lyonsburg Cemetery, Bliss. Due to Covid 19 precautions, the funeral home is limited to 50% capacity and facemasks are required. Thank you for your cooperation.
