Gilberto Virue Martinez

Age 85, of Pavilion, passed away on January 19, 2022 at home.

He was born February 23, 1936 in San Juan, Puerto Rico to the late Santa Martinez. Gilberto was employed at Lapp Insulator for over 30 years as a mechanic. He was a huge Nascar fan and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and tinkering around the house. Gilberto was a family man, who loved spending time with and giving out advice to his children and grandchildren. Gilberto loved his family more than anything.

Along with his mother, Santa, he was predeceased by his wife, Bertha Jane Post Martinez; his children, William Veihdeffer and Martha Knouse-Sherlock; his brothers, Anthony, Steven, Miguel, and Herman; a grandchild; a great grandchild.

Gilberto is survived by his son, Edward Veihdeffer of Warsaw; his daughter, Georgia Murphy of Pavilion; daughter-in-law, Donna Veihdeffer; sister, Suzie; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ray and Donna Post; 12 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.
