Gary A. Pirdy

Age 78, of Castile, NY died September 25, 2016 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo.

He was born January 24, 1938 in Buffalo, NY son of the late Warren and Helen Hackett Pirdy. Gary was employed for over fifty years with Table Rock Farms in Castile. He was a long time member of the Castile Community Club and was a former member of the Castile Fire Department.

Gary was an avid bowler. He also enjoyed playing cards and golfing. He enjoyed being outdoors and working in the woods. Gary enjoyed spending winters in Florida where he and his wife, Carol loved spending time with friends.

Surviving are his wife, Carol Eck Pirdy whom he married on March 1, 1958; his son, Guy (Valerie) Pirdy of Castile, his daughter, Annette (Keith) Granger of Castile; grandchildren, Nichole Granger, Angela (Rob) Griswold, Tyler Pirdy and Tim Pirdy; great grandchild, Aiden and step great grandchild, Breanna; his brother, Lee (Marilyn) Pirdy of Bliss; several nieces and nephews. Gary was the brother of the late Lynn Pirdy, Donna Ebel and Linda Pirdy.

Friends may call Thursday, September 29 from 2 ? 4 & 6 ? 8 PM at the Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, 35 N. Main St., Castile where Gary?s service will be held Friday, September 30 at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, 665 Elm St., Buffalo, NY 14203 or the Castile Rescue Squad, PO Box 338, Castile, NY 14427.
