Frederick A. Goodell

Age 57, of Park Road East, Castile, died peacefully at home on February 17, 2015, surrounded by his family.

He was born December 22, 1957 in Warsaw, son of the late Hubert and Josephine Caito Goodell. Frederick was a graduate of Letchworth Central School, class of 1976. He was Mayor of Castile from April 1997 to April 2001 as well as a stand in on May 2, 1994. Frederick was employed at Kittenger?s for 15 years before going on to work at Morton Salt, as a station engineer in the boiler room, for 25 years. He also loved to work on the farm of his dear friends Burdett and June Randall.

Frederick was a Union President for the United Steel Workers of America and the leader of Boy Scout Troop 54 for over 10 years.

Predeceased, along with his parents, is his sister Mary Lou McCrary.

Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Justa Treusdell Goodell; his sons, Zacheriah (Jaimie) Goodell of Castile, Isaiah (Jasmine) Goodell of Castile, Samuel Goodell of Castile; his brother, Mark (Terry) Goodell of Williamsburg, VA; his sister Lisa (Richard) Goodell Grasby of Chili, NY; his grandchildren, Annie and Morgan Goodell; 4 nephews, Kevin and Nathan McCrary, Nick Goodell and Adam Luczak; his niece, Sara Luczak; his father and mother-in-law, Larry and Sallye Treusdell and his sister-in-law Janinne (Alex) Luczak.

Friends may call Thursday, February 19 from 5-8 PM and on Friday, February 20 from 1-4 & 5-9 PM at Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, 35 N. Main St., Castile. His funeral service will be held Saturday, February 21 at 10:30 AM at the Castile Baptist Church. Burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, Silver Springs at a later date.
