Elizabeth M. Mayle

Age 83, a resident of the East Side Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw, formerly of Wyoming, NY, passed away on October 2, 2020 at the nursing facility.

She was born August 22, 1937 in Warsaw, NY daughter of Melvin Barnes and Josephine Lowe Barnes. Mrs. Mayle was employed for many years as a histotechnologist at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She also practiced at several surrounding facilities and agencies. In earlier years, she taught histotechnology at Monroe Community College. Mrs. Mayle was a charter member of the National Society for Histotechnology and was a member of the New York State Registry of Medical Technologists.

She was an accomplished artist, specializing in painting miniatures. She enjoyed traveling, was a voracious reader and an avid Charles Bronson fan. She was a member of the former Wyoming Presbyterian Church and she loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Mayle was predeceased by her husband of forty-five years, Junior Mayle who died in 2000.

Surviving are her daughters, Patti (Mike) Murtha of Warsaw, Teri (Don) Fraser of Warsaw; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Donald Austin.

A celebration of life will be held Monday, October 5 from 3 – 7 PM at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the East Side Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Activities Fund, 62 Prospect St., Warsaw, NY 14569 or the Alzheimer’s Association of Western New York, 2805 Wehrle Dr., Buffalo, NY 14221.
