Edward John Strathearn

Age 88, of Wyoming, NY, passed away on September 21, 2020 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw.

He was born March 7, 1932 in Middlebury, NY, son of the late John and Mary King Strathearn. Ed was a lifelong farmer who owned and operated his family farm in the Town of Middlebury until his retirement. He enjoyed cutting wood and hunting when he was younger. Ed loved socializing and enjoyed spending time with his family and attending family gatherings.

Surviving are his wife, Sue Jarvis Strathearn; his children, Walter (Mary Lou) Strathearn of Wyoming, Peggy (Chris) Brotz of Union, SC, Kenneth (Cheryl) Strathearn of Wyoming, Philip (Hope) Strathearn of Wyoming; step children, Traci (Kevin) Schimmel of Rochester, Corey (Susan) McAtee of Churchville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brother, Albert (Betty) Strathearn of Wyoming; many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Leigh (Eleanor) Strathearn, Harold (Violet) Strathearn, Verna (Bill) Luengen, Bernice (Elwin) Brayley and Lucille (Clayton) Carlson.

Friends may call Saturday, September 26 from 10 AM – 1 PM at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Ed’s private funeral service will follow. Ed’s family invites family and friends to a celebration of his life also on Saturday, September 26 at 2 PM at the Wyoming Fire Hall, 26 Maple St., Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wyoming Hook & Ladder Company, PO Box 36, Wyoming, NY 14591. Online condolences at www.robinsonandhackemer.com. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral home is limited to 33% capacity and masks are required. Thank you for your cooperation.
