Donald P. Tallman

Age 83, of Silver Springs, NY, passed away on December 28, 2021 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw.

He was born June 7, 1938 in Warsaw, NY son of the late Donald and Shirley Stephens Tallman. Don was the owner and operator of the family collision and auto repair business, Tallman Bros., Inc. in Silver Springs for many years. He was a veteran of the US Army and was a longtime member of the Silver Springs United Methodist Church. Don was a member of the Silver Springs Fire Department and was one of the founding members of the Silver Springs Rescue Squad. He was also a former member of the Gainesville Town Board.

Don was an avid sprint car racing enthusiast and New York Yankee fan and he enjoyed following college basketball.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-eight years, Marilyn Hallopeter Tallman; his sons, Scott (Rhonda Smith) Tallman of Silver Springs, Timothy Tallman of Varysburg; grandchildren, Chris Tallman (Ashley McMaster), Chelsie (Chad) Gawel, Trisha Ikeler, Alexander Tallman, Abbey Tallman, Adam Tallman; great granddaughter, Evelyn Gawel; his brother, David (Karen) Tallman of Silver Springs; sister-in-law, Bonnie Tallman of Warsaw; several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Bruce Tallman.

Friends may call Sunday, January 9 from 2 – 6 PM at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw where Don’s funeral service will be held Monday, January 10 at 1 PM. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Silver Springs. A Fireman’s memorial service will be held Sunday at the conclusion of visitation at the funeral home.
