Cori Lynn Shearing

November 25, 1999 — April 14, 2020

Cori Lynn Shearing

Age 20, of 6326 Hardys Road, Bliss, NY went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on 14 April, 2020. She was born on Thanksgiving Day 25 November, 1999 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York to Matthew and Shari Kay Shearing. Because she was born on Thanksgiving Day we often referred to her as “Turkey Lynn”.

She attended elementary, middle and high school at Letchworth Central School, graduating in 2018 with a GPA of 98.09. She was a beautiful, smart, and loving woman who excelled in art and athletics. She was an integral part of the swimming, basketball and track teams and had an awesome graduation party. She then went on to attend Hilbert College in Hamburg, New York and was a top student with straight A’s.

She enjoyed puzzles, planting flowers, drawing, playing anagrams, doing tie dye, dancing and playing her ukulele. She adored animals and misses Shiloh, Bailey and Molly. She was always the designated driver for her brother, sister and friends. She was an avid reader, loved to fish and hang out on the beaches of Florida. She has a unique style with her bangs, beautiful smile and her clothes purchased from thrift stores. She is a joyful flower child who was born 35 years too late. Her room is adorned with tapestries and strange lighting fixtures. She prepared and ate 3 eggs and 4 slices of toast nightly and her quirks were absolutely charming. She brought happiness and joy to everyone she met. Faun Lake and Johnson’s Nursery is where she spent her summers working. This is where she learned and grew from the people that recognized her talents and loved her.

Cori’s family misses her deeply…a hole that cannot be filled. Her family and friends greatly appreciate your expressions of sympathy and love. Words cannot fully express our sorrow and grief that we’re experiencing with the loss of this perfect gift, whom we called Cori. We are confident that she is in Jesus’ loving arms.

Surviving along with her parents are her brother, Matthew J. Shearing of Baltimore, MD; her sister, Stacie M. Shearing of Alden; her paternal grandparents, James (the late Leslie) Shearing of Gainesville; her maternal grandparents, Robert and Joanne Erickson of Jamestown; aunts and uncles, Robert (Jennifer) Erickson of Elma, Thomas (Tari) Geisler of Jamestown, Marci Erickson of Jamestown, James L. (Sondra) Shearing of Gainesville, Eric Shearing of Athens, VT, Richard (Cynthia) Shearing of Portland, OR; several cousins.
