Anne M. Lockwood, 88, passed away at home in Venice, Florida on Wednesday February 17, 2016 surrounded by her five children.

A longtime resident of Castile, NY she was born November 22, 1927 in Rochester, NY. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Anna (Ruttkowski) McGrath. After the early death of her parents, she was raised by her maternal grandparents, Bernard and Emma Ruttkowski.

Anne was a graduate of Nazareth Academy in Rochester and the State Teachers College of Brockport (now SUNY Brockport). She worked many years teaching, all of it within the Letchworth Central School district. Her early career was in teaching of physical education, followed in her later years in elementary classrooms. She briefly coached girls volleyball and also was a volleyball official.

She had many interests, including many years of golfing at Silver Lake Country Club and playing volleyball. In her later years, she became a passionate contract bridge player. Anne achieved the level of Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League. She was active within the Catholic Church as a Eucharistic Minister and was a longtime supporter of the Christian Children?s Fund.

Anne was married on April 3, 1948 to the late Donald F. Lockwood. She was predeceased by her sister, Alice McNiel-Aliano and her brothers Louis, Charles and Robert McGrath. She is survived by her daughters Donna Glover (Donald Schmidle) of Angola, NY, Gail Lockwood of Buffalo, NY and Michelle (William) Schlegel of Wellsboro, PA and sons Steven (Helena) Lockwood of Jucati, Brazil and Gregory (Heidi) Lockwood of Gainesville, NY. She is survived by her brother William (Mary Kay) McGrath of Newark, NY and her sister-in-law Dolores McGrath of Rochester, as well as her grandsons Matthew Glover, Mark Glover, Michael Glover, Daniel Glover, Alan Kemp and Donald Lockwood, as well as many nieces and nephews. A lifelong lover of dogs, Anne is also survived by her faithful companion, Molly.

Friends and family may call Friday, February 26th from 2 ? 4 p.m. and 7 ? 9 p.m. at the Harmon-Watson Funeral Home 35 North Main Street, Castile, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Isadore?s Parish, St. Mary?s Church site, Silver Springs, NY at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 27th. Memorials may be made to the Cordelia A.
