Ruth B. Wallace

May 27, 1920 - November 15, 2017

Age 97, of Warsaw, passed away on November 15, 2017 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. Ruth had been residing at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility under the loving care of the staff on the Plum Unit.

She was born May 27, 1920 in Great Valley, NY daughter of the late Wilbert and Bessie Ball Bernges. Ruth worked for over thirty years as an insurance secretary for the Warsaw Agency prior to her retirement in 1984. She was a graduate of East High School in Buffalo and Bryant & Stratton College in Buffalo. She was a life member of the Wallace-Jeffers American Legion Auxiliary in Castile and was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Orangeville. Ruth was an avid bridge player and was a former member of the United Church of Warsaw.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband, LaVerne Wallace.

Surviving are her children, Peter (Nancy) Neidrauer of Churchville, Patricia (Dr. Jeffrey) Blank of Trumbull, CT, Rev. Elizabeth Meacham of Warsaw; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Esther Bernges.

Friends may call Friday, November 17 from 7 – 9 PM at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw where Ruth’s funeral service will be held Saturday, November 18 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immanuel United Church of Christ, PO Box 144., Attica, NY 14011 or the Castile Rescue Squad, PO Box 338, Castile, NY 14427.
