Evelyn E. Engler

April 10, 1923 - May 2, 2018

Age 95, of Castile, NY, passed away on May 2, 2018 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw.

She was born April 10, 1923 in Buffalo, NY daughter of the late Harold and Mary Kelly O’Connor. Evelyn worked as a Rosie the Riveter in the Curtis Wright plant in Buffalo during World War II. After the war, she married her beloved husband, Francis and they raised their large family.

Evelyn was a longtime member of St. Isidore’s Parish, St. Mary’s church site in Silver Springs where she was also a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. She was active in the Legion of Mary and had served as a Eucharistic minister. Evelyn enjoyed doing crosswords, reading, baking and cooking and she enjoyed traveling, taking rides and going to craft shows.

Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Francis Engler who died in 1992.

Surviving are her children, Judith (James) Schueckler of LeRoy, Richard (Julie) Engler of Warsaw, Paul (Gloria) Engler of Blasdell, William (Sue) Engler of Tonawanda, Teresa Engler of LeRoy, Mary Eunice (David) Erb of Castile, Joanne (Martin) Moore of Eunice, NM; her niece, Patricia (Edward) Mussall of Ransomville; twenty-seven grandchildren; many great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours. Evelyn’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 12 at 11 AM at St. Isidore’s Parish, St. Mary’s church site, Silver Springs. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Silver Springs. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the church.
