Bernard Thomas Schwab

October 23, 1935 - May 6, 2018

Age 82, of Warsaw, passed away at his home on May 6, 2018.

He was born on October 23, 1935 in Sheldon, NY son of the late Augustus M. and Anna R. Crahan Schwab. Bernie was employed for twenty-five years as a quality engineer with the former Mallory Timers Company in Warsaw and then was employed with Gates Albert Company in Rochester until his retirement. Bernie was a proud veteran of the US Air Force having served during the Korean War as a crew chief on B-47 strato jet.

He was a member of St. Michael’s Church in Warsaw. Bernie’s passion first and foremost was his family. He enjoyed carpentry and mechanical work and loved helping people and meeting the gang at Tim Horton’s. Bernie loved to travel with his family exploring the United States and then later he enjoyed cruises and international travel.

Surviving are his partner, Nancy Reynolds of Warsaw; his daughters, Lisa Janell Schwab of Erie, PA, Linda Jean Schwab (Duane) Edmunds of Pittsford, NY; his son, Richard Thomas (Kimberly) Schwab of Portageville, NY; his grandchildren, Adam and Hayden Schwab; his siblings, Robert Schwab of Perry, Raymond (Nadine) Schwab of North Tonawanda, Francis (Betty) Schwab of Perry, Margaret Preen of Perry, Rose Boxler of Varysburg, Joan (John) Knab of Varysburg, Eleanor Busch of Alden; many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John Schwab, Cecelia Lyons, Teresa Burger, Irene Wilkins and Marie Schwab.

Friends may call Friday, May 18 from 3 – 7 PM at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Bernie’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 19 at 10 AM at St. Michael’s Church, Warsaw. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Warsaw. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HomeCare & Hospice, 450 N. Main St., Warsaw, NY 14569.
