Bernard Pfaff

May 1, 1918 - March 19, 2018

Age 99, a resident of the East Side Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw, formerly of Bennington, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2018 at the nursing facility.

He was born May 1, 1918 in Bennington, NY son of the late William and Amalie Pfaff. Barney was a lifelong resident of Bennington. He and his brother, William ran the family dairy until selling it in 2000. He loved working the land and tending to his cows. Barney owned a local destination spot dubbed “The Cider Cellar” frequented by many friends, neighbors and even the likes of the Buffalo Bills and Sabres.

Surviving are his nieces, Linda Laware, Suzanne West, Jacquelyn Leach, Carolyn Almeter and nephew, Kenneth Pfaff. He was the brother to the late Joseph (Margaret) Pfaff, William Pfaff, Carl (Marion) Pfaff, George (Beatrice) Pfaff and uncle to the late Carol Blaney, Lance Pfaff, George Pfaff and Nancy Smith.

Barney’s Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, March 24 at 11 AM at St. Joachim & Anne Parish, St. Joseph’s Church site in Varysburg. Memorials may be made to the Wyoming County SPCA, PO Box 269, Attica, NY 14011.
