Adele W. Blaszak

June 25, 1925 - February 16, 2014

Age 88, of Park Road West, Castile, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died February 16, 2014 at Highland Hospital in Rochester.

She was born June 25, 1925 in Buffalo, NY, daughter of the late Alexander and Katherine Lewendowski Wroblewski. Adele worked for many years as a working foreman at Champion Products in Perry. She also worked for the former Gates Transport Co., Satterlee’s Dry Cleaners in Castile and the Nighty Night Company in Perry. Adele also owned and operated Adele’s Hat Shop in Castile for many years.

Adele was a long time active member of St. Mary’s Church in Silver Springs where she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society and served as a bingo volunteer. She was a member of the Silver & Gold Club in Castile, was active as a Girl Scout leader for many years and directed plays for the Catholic Youth Organization. Adele was also an avid card player.

Adele was predeceased by her husband, Victor Blaszak who died in 1979, her daughter, Lorraine Zalewski who died in 2000 and her nine siblings.

Surviving are her daughter, Cristine (Gene) Scherline of Geneseo; her grandchildren, Matthew Scherline, Tevye (Bethany) Scherline, Janine (Todd) Pray, Sara (Chris) Scallon, Brandon (Mindy) Zalewski; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Wednesday, February 19 from 4 – 7 PM at Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, 35 N. Main St., Castile. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 20 at 11 AM at St. Isidore’s Parish, St. Mary’s Church site, Silver Springs. Private burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Silver Springs. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Livingston County Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation, 11 Murray Hill Dr., Mt. Morris, NY 14510.
