William G. “Bill” Veihdeffer

January 9, 1955 - July 16, 2019

Age 64, of Warsaw, passed away on July 16, 2019 at Buffalo General Hospital.

He was born January 9, 1955 in Warsaw, son of the late Ronald and Bertha Jane Post Veihdeffer. Bill was a veteran of the US Navy and was employed for many years as a high voltage lab technician for PCORE Electric Company in LeRoy prior to his retirement in April of this year.

Bill was a longtime member of the Warsaw Fire Department where he was currently serving as Captain of the Warsaw Fire Police. He was a past Captain of the Warsaw Rescue Squad and was a fire Lieutenant. Bill was a member of the Walter Klein Post of the American Legion and the Legion Riders motorcycle club. He enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing and camping as well as riding his motorcycle.

Surviving are his wife, Donna Veihdeffer; son, Aaron (Amber) Veihdeffer of Warsaw; daughters, Stacy (Ralph Falcone) Prevorse of Bliss, Patricia Franklin of Cincinnati, OH; eleven grandchildren; one great grandchild; step father, Gilbert Martinez of Pavilion; his brother, Edward Veihdeffer of Castile; sisters, Georgia Murphy of Pavilion, Martha Bachmann of Farmington; uncles and aunts, Raymond (Donna) Post of Warsaw, Sylvia (Junior Baker) Post of Warsaw; many nieces and nephews. Bill is predeceased by one grandchild.

Friends may call Friday, July 19 from 2 – 6 PM at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Bill’s veteran’s service and fire department service will be held immediately following visitation at 6 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Warsaw Fire Department, PO Box 229, Warsaw, NY 14569 or Warsaw Rescue Squad, PO Box 22, Warsaw, NY 14569.
