Martin A. Norton

July 14, 1927 - January 22, 2019

Age 91, of Wyoming, NY passed away on January 22, 2019 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw.

He was born July 14, 1927 in the Town of Middlebury, son of the late Leslie and Theresa Lacey Norton. Martin was employed for twenty-two years in the film sensitizing department of the Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester prior to his retirement in 1989. In earlier years he was employed at Wyoming Central School and the former Wilson Farm Supply in Wyoming.

Martin enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. He was an avid NASCAR and drag racing fan and was a Chicago Cubs fan. He was a member of St. Mary?s Church in Pavilion and was a former member of the Wyoming Cemetery Association Board of Directors. Martin also enjoyed volunteering at the Middlebury Historical Society.

Martin was predeceased by his wife of fifty years, Evelyn Norton who died in 2005.

Surviving are his children, Nathan (Connie) Norton of Wyoming, Rex (Dawn) Norton of Batavia, Doug (Nancy) Norton of Wyoming, Rebecca Norton of Rochester; grandchildren, Christopher (Katrina) Norton, Heidi (Jack) LePage, Hannah Norton, Lucy Norton, Riley Norton, Shea Norton; sister, Sherlyn (Caryl) Robson of Silver Springs. He was the brother of the late Thelma Maxwell.

Friends may call Sunday, January 27 from 9 AM ? Noon at the residence of Doug & Nancy Norton, 14 S. Academy St. (Route 19), Wyoming where a brief service will be held at the conclusion of visitation. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Middlebury Historical Society, PO Box 198, Wyoming, NY 14591.
