Marion G. Albro

January 28, 1915 - February 24, 2014

Age 99, of Pike, NY, died February 24, 2014 at the East Side Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw.

She was born January 28, 1915 in Nunda, NY, daughter of the late Hugh and Ethelyn Sawyer Gillette. Marion received her bachelor?s degree from Keuka College and was a business teacher for many years at Letchworth Central School.

Marion was a longtime member of the Pike Community Church and she was a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association. She was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Pike Library Board, the Wyoming County Fair Association and the Pike Bicentennial Committee. Marion was also a former member and secretary of the Elmwood Cemetery Association in Pike.

Marion was predeceased by her husband, Merton Albro who died in 1997.

Surviving are her son, Daniel (Nancy) Albro of Pike; her daughter, Roxann (Don) Muller of Canandaigua; her grandchildren, Patrick (Amy) Albro, James (Tara) Albro, Eileen (Dan) Flynn, Travis Vogel, Chad Vogel and Rebekah Muller; 8 great grandchildren; her brother, Frank Gillette of Pike; several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Dwight Gillette.

Friends may call Thursday, February 27 from 5 ? 8 PM at Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, 35 N. Main St., Castile. Marion?s memorial service will be held Friday, February 28 at 5 PM at the Pike Community Church, 52 Main St., Pike. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Pike at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pike Community Church, PO Box 297, 52 Main St., Pike, NY 14130.
