Hope L. Rase

March 14, 1921 - January 28, 2019

Age 97, of Warsaw, passed away on January 28, 2019 at The Cloisters in Warsaw.

She was born March 14, 1921 in Oneida, NY, daughter of the late Paul and Christine Hope Lindkamp. Hope was a graduate of Oneida High School and attended Potsdam Normal School (SUNY Potsdam). She was a longtime federal employee serving as a secretary with the Agricultural Stabilization Board in Warsaw and was a longtime secretary for the Charlotte Smallwood Law Office in Warsaw.

Hope began the first Welcome Wagon program in Warsaw and proof read the booklet for the Warsaw community. She was an avid birdwatcher and reader and enjoyed camping. She played piano and organ and was an ardent lover of classical music.

Hope was a member of the United Church of Warsaw for over seventy years and was a member of the Warsaw Monday Club and the Red Hat Society.

Hope was predeceased by her husband, Jack F. Rase who passed away in 2000 and her sister, Faith Seiler Barnard.

Surviving are her sons, Jack (Jean White) Rase of Warsaw, Jeffrey (Mary) Rase of Warsaw, Peter (Michele) Rase of Chili, Stephen (Christine) Rase of Warsaw; grandchildren, Jennifer (Shawn) Schott, Tanni (Michael) Bromley, Marshall (Madison Houseal) Rase, Kelsey (Michael) Holmes, Cory Rase; great grandchildren, Kameron Rase, Adyson O?Donnell, Kennedy Holmes and Harper Holmes; brothers-in-law, Ted Pickering, Jr. and David Barnard both of Florida; niece, Christine Melton; nephews, Douglas Seiler and Jason (Aimee) Seiler.

Friends may call Thursday, February 7 from 3 ? 6 PM at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw where Hope?s Memorial service will be held immediately following visitation at 6 PM. Private burial will be in the United Church of Warsaw Memorial Garden at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Church of Warsaw, PO Box 205, Warsaw, NY 14569 or the Genesee Valley Audubon Society, PO Box 15512, Rochester, NY 14615
