Evelyn T. Lemanski

January 23, 1931 - May 22, 2019

Age 88, of Pavilion, NY, passed away peacefully at home on May 22, 2019.

She was born January 23, 1931 in Covington, NY daughter of the late Herbert and Onita Johnson Tillotson. Evelyn worked in earlier years as a waitress at Victor?s Restaurant in Batavia and also at the Red Osier Restaurant in Stafford. She also was employed as a bookkeeper for the Handi Garage in Batavia and then at the Fina Gas Station and Garage in Florida.

Evelyn was proud of her membership in the Batavia Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and in Florida she was a member of the Cocoa/Rockledge Garden Club. She loved music and dancing as well as playing bridge. She was an active supporter of the Brevard Symphony Association in Florida and belonged to various bridge clubs. Evelyn was a devoted Christian and loved spending time with her family.

Along with her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Albert Lemanski; her aunt and uncle, Clifford and Josephine Johnson Jordan; grandson, Jerry Roger Riter, Jr.; sister-in-law, Doris Dibble Tillotson; sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and TR Smith.

Surviving are her daughters, Gloria (Jerry) Riter, Cheryl (Timothy) Rutherford; her brother, Herbert Marshall Tillotson; grandchildren, Lyn Riter Savoie, Alexander (Mae) Riter, Tristan (Jenny) Riter, Ingrid (John) Breithaupt, Glenn (Sarah) Riter, Dawn (Robert) Marsceill, Abby (Ryan) Rutherford, Beth (Steve) O?Shea, Cathy Zimmer; nieces and nephews, Chad (Christine) Tillotson, Lisa (John) Pasqual, Todd (Debby) Tillotson, Randy (Vicky) Smith, Lorelli Smith Ciafardoni; her stepgrandchildren, Sara (Amy) Rutherford, Timmy (Veronica) Rutherford, Chris (Heather) Rutherford, Ben (Jacquie) Rutherford and Lee Rutherford who stayed with Evelyn as a special caretaker; twenty-eight great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; very special friends, Charlotte Boyd, Ann Hopper, Sheila Groh, Pat and Doug McVean, Richard and Petro Day and family, Betty Moxley and Laura Minot.

Friends may call Sunday, June 9 from 2 ? 4 PM at the Pavilion United Methodist Church, 11115 E. Park St., Pavilion where Evelyn?s memorial service will be held immediately following visitation at 4 PM. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association of WNY, 2805 Wehrle Dr., Williamsville, NY 14221 or to a local school music program.
